What are the terms for using Fontwell?

You may use Fontwell freely for information. Our licence summaries and tools are provided as-is, without warranty, and do not replace the licence that ships with each font. By using the site you accept these terms.

Information, not advice

Content on Fontwell is general information about publicly available fonts and licences. It is not legal advice. The licence distributed with a font is the binding document; read it before relying on any use. See the disclaimer.

Fonts are not ours

Fontwell does not host, sell or license fonts. Fonts belong to their copyright holders and are licensed to you by them under the licences named on each page. Specimens are rendered by your browser from Google Fonts.

Reusing our content

You may quote short passages with a link to the source page. The aggregated index at /data/fonts-index.json is derived from Google’s public metadata and the google/fonts repository and may be reused with attribution to Fontwell and those sources. Do not republish whole guides without permission.

Accuracy and availability

We work to keep data accurate and dated (see the methodology), but we do not guarantee that the site is complete, current or always available, and we may change or remove content.

Links and advertising

Fontwell links to other websites and shows ads from Google AdSense. We are not responsible for the content or practices of other sites. Any affiliate links are labelled.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Fontwell is not liable for any loss arising from use of the site or reliance on its content.
