What data does Fontwell collect?
Fontwell has no accounts and no forms that store personal data. Pages may use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and Google AdSense to show ads, both of which can use cookies, and specimen previews load font files from Google Fonts. Here is what each does and how to opt out.
Who is responsible
Fontwell (fontwell.online) is responsible for this website. Contact: contact@fontwell.online.
Server and hosting logs
The site is served as static files through Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and protect against abuse. We do not run our own application server or database and do not combine these records with other data.
Google Analytics 4
When enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and tools are used (for example page views and the events “tool_used” and “outbound_affiliate_click”, which records only the destination website’s host name). Analytics may set first-party cookies such as _ga. We do not send names, email addresses or the text you type into tools to Google Analytics. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on or by blocking cookies.
Advertising: Google AdSense and third-party cookies
Advertising is disabled by default. When explicitly enabled, Fontwell may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings.
- Opt out of some third-party vendors’ cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU).

Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google consent mode is configured so that advertising and analytics storage are denied by default. No consent management platform or consent-choice interface has been verified for this build. Consent Mode defaults are not a consent banner. Advertising must remain disabled until the required certified CMP is configured and tested; analytics must also remain unconfigured until applicable consent requirements are met. Outside these regions consent defaults to granted, and you can opt out with the links above.
Google Fonts specimens
Fontwell’s own text fonts are self-hosted. The live specimens on the proofing desk, family pages and the pairing tester are loaded by your browser from the Google Fonts CSS API (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Those requests send Google your IP address, browser user agent, the referring page and the characters being previewed. Google states that the Fonts API does not set or log cookies and that it does not use this information to create profiles or target ads. You can switch specimens off with the “Load live specimens from Google Fonts” checkbox on the desk or the button on a family page; the choice is stored in your browser’s local storage, not on our servers. Background: self-hosting Google Fonts and GDPR.
If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply, and keep correspondence only as long as needed for that purpose.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or UK GDPR, or US state privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Because we hold almost no personal data ourselves, most requests concern Google’s processing, which you can manage through the links above; for anything else, email us.
Children
Fontwell is a general-audience reference and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We update this page when our use of data changes and show the effective date at the top.
